Every year, tax season roll around and thanks to have three kids - we get a nice refund back. This year's was particularly nice due to the taxes paid on Robby's bonus money coming back to us. And when the refund rolls in, Robby and I generally set aside a chunk for savings (or last year it was for the minivan) and then designate a bit of "free-for-all" spending money for each of us. This year I spent mine on photography stuff! I now have a background stand, 6 different colors of backgrounds and a shiny new lens coming my way! I'm so excited! Shopping the B&H site, I was like a kid in a candy shop trying to figure out what colors and what lens I wanted. I can't wait for it all to get here so I can play! Look forward to new pictures in a couple weeks!
I tried to teach the girls (or at least Jadzia) about Hide-and-seek since they were stampeding around my kitchen playing tag or something. I explained the idea of one person counting while the others were supposed to hide and to demonstrate, I started counting and told Jadzia to go hide. When I said "Ready or not, here I come!" Jadzia shrieked and came running back into the kitchen where I was....hmm, I think she missed a vital element of the game. So then she wanted to counted and wanted Inara to go hide. So we started counting and Inara stood there laughing. Then she started running around the living room shrieking and so not hiding. Jadzia finished counting, immediately tagged Inara and apparently had "found her". Yeah, I don't think they really grasped the fundamentals to the game.
Later, we went to Costco because we needed dog food. Dog food was the only real item on my list and yet somehow I still walked out with a basket full of stuff. There's something sinister about that store - it sucks you in.
