Love and Marriage

Jadzia has decided that she is going to marry Inara. Now explaining that 1) it's simply not socially acceptable to marry your own sister and 2) that gay marriage is not currently legal in most states is a little beyond her comprehension. Besides, where's the fun in that?

So she spent much of the day chasing Inara around professing her love and trying desperately to drag her over to me (apparently the officiant) so they could get married. Fifty percent of the time, Inara ran away or hid from Jadzia before Jadzia even got close. While it's a little young to determine that she's afraid of committment, it could be a sign - or maybe she just didn't want her sister bugging her. Another thirty percent of the time, Jadzia would manage to get her over to me and I would recite the "vows" (more on the wording later). Inara would either try to get away mid-ceremony ala Julia Roberts in Runaway Bride OR she'd refuse the kiss. The remaining twenty percent of the time, we'd make it through the entire ceremony, even get a kiss. Considering this game was played at least ten times today - they got married successfully twice.

As to the vows, they went something like this:
"Jadzia, do you take Inara to be your lawfully wedded sister? Forever and ever (and ever), for as long as you both shall live?" (Here Jadzia nods or says "uh huh!")

"Inara do you take Jadzia...Inara! Hey Inara! Do you take Jadzia to be your lawfully wedded sister? Forever and ever (and ever), for as long as you both shall live?" (Here Inara looks at us like we've lost our minds and stays dutifully silent - or once says "kay")

"Then by the power vested in me by the state of mommyhood, I now pronounce you sister and sister" (Usually by now Inara has run off but if she's still there...) "You may kiss your sister" (Jadzia struggles to land a kiss remotely close to Inara's lips and generally fails)
